Meet Katherine
I founded Blue Mind Mental Health Services to create a space where you can be seen, heard, and supported without judgment. My work is deeply inspired by the Blue Mind concept—the idea that water has a calming and restorative effect on our minds and bodies. Just like the soothing rhythm of the ocean or the stillness of a quiet lake, I want our sessions to feel like a place where you can exhale, reflect, and begin to heal.
Many of my clients come to me because they’re feeling burned out and stuck in cycles of self-doubt, or unsure of how to advocate for themselves. They're tired of second-guessing themselves, struggling to say "no," or feeling guilty for having needs at all. If that sounds familiar, you're in the right place!
I am passionate about helping people break their people-pleasing patterns and master the art of setting healthy boundaries. Together, we work to break free from those patterns, reframe your limiting beliefs, and build your confidence with setting healthy boundaries. I'll give you practical tools and strategies, but more importantly, I'll help you reconnect with your own inner compass so you can trust yourself and move forward with confidence.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist
My path to becoming a therapist was very personal. For as long as I can remember, anxiety was my constant companion. As a child, I was the one who stayed quiet when I had something to say, who said "yes" when I desperately wanted to say "no," and who constantly replayed conversations in my head, convinced I'd said the wrong thing or let someone down.
I spent years trapped in cycles of overthinking and people-pleasing, always putting everyone else's needs before my own. I became an expert at reading the room, anticipating what others wanted from me, and molding myself to fit their expectations. On the outside, I looked like I had it all together. On the inside, I was exhausted, anxious, and completely disconnected from what I actually wanted or needed.
The turning point came when I realized I couldn't keep living that way. I was burning out, losing myself in the process of trying to be everything for everyone. That's when I began my own journey of healing, learning to set boundaries, challenge the negative beliefs I'd carried for so long, and rebuild my relationship with myself.
So, I know all too well what it feels like to be stuck in your own head, to feel the physical weight of anxiety in your chest, to struggle with setting boundaries because you're terrified of the fallout. I've been there. And I've also been on the other side of it. That's the work I'm here to help you do as well. Not because I have all the answers, but because I've walked a similar path and I know a way forward.
A Little More About Me
Beyond my work, I love traveling and have I have found that exploring different places and cultures has helped me appreciate the many ways people find meaning and connection in their lives. Travel has been a powerful reminder that growth comes from stepping outside of our comfort zones, something I encourage in therapy as well.
I also find peace by the water, whether it’s a quiet walk by the lake or my daily swim at the local rec center. It’s a reminder that healing doesn’t happen in an instant, it’s a gradual process, like the tide moving in and out.
Let’s Work Together
Together, we will explore and assess why you’re feeling the way you are, and what the best path forward is. Everything is tailored to your personal challenges and goals, and I use a number of different approaches to support your growth and healing.

Approaches
-
CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. It focuses on developing healthier coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns
-
EMDR is a trauma-focused therapy that helps individuals process and heal from distressing memories by using bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements. It aims to reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic experiences and promote adaptive coping.
-
This approach views individuals within the context of their family dynamics, recognizing that relationships and communication patterns impact mental health. It helps families improve interactions, resolve conflicts, and create healthier, more supportive relationships.
-
EFT helps individuals and couples explore, understand, and regulate their emotions to foster healing and personal growth. It focuses on deepening emotional awareness, reshaping emotional responses, and improving interpersonal connections.
-
This approach is designed to help individuals process and recover from trauma by integrating evidence-based techniques that address the emotional, psychological, and physiological effects of traumatic experiences. It often incorporates elements of CBT, EMDR, and other trauma-informed interventions.
-
Narrative therapy helps individuals reshape their self-identity by exploring the stories they tell about their lives. It empowers clients to externalize problems, reframe negative narratives, and construct more meaningful and positive life stories.
-
DBT is a skills-based therapy that combines CBT principles with mindfulness and emotion regulation strategies. It is particularly effective for individuals struggling with emotional dysregulation, self-harm, or borderline personality disorder.
-
SFT is a goal-oriented, brief therapy that focuses on finding practical solutions rather than analyzing problems. It helps individuals identify their strengths, set achievable goals, and build on past successes to create positive change in their lives.
